Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs
Virginia Commonwealth University, College of Humanities and Sciences invites applicants for the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. This 100%, 12-month appointment will provide leadership for CHS in advancing faculty affairs missions, as well as integrating those missions with the larger strategic goals of the College and the University. As a senior leader in the CHS, this position is responsible for planning and implementing a strategic plan that supports a healthy, thriving community for faculty, staff and students. This position will focus on all aspects of faculty growth, including faculty recruitment, development, evaluations, promotion and tenure, and all related processes.The successful applicant will have a PhD degree from an accredited institution with tenure and academic rank of associate professor or higher; experience and understanding of faculty related issues; a demonstrated record of effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; an outstanding record of accomplishment in research, teaching, service and/or administration with progressively increasing duties and responsibilities; and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
