Provost and Vice-President Academic

University of Northern British Columbia - Prince George, BC

Located in the spectacular landscape of northern British Columbia, UNBC is Canada’s best small research-intensive university. With a passion for teaching, discovery, people, the environment, and the North, UNBC encourages the excitement of new knowledge in its students and takes the outcomes of its teaching and research to the world.

As UNBC’s new Provost and Vice-President Academic, you will understand the culture and aspirations of the University. With impeccable teaching and research credentials, budgetary acumen, and influencing skills, you will work with the University community to develop and implement short- and long-range plans that will identify, shape, and sustainably finance UNBC’s strategic goals.

A respected academic leader, you are a skilled planner who understands risk and opportunity. A systems thinker, you can sustain and navigate a complex network of relationships. Collegial, inclusive, and inspiring, you are a strong team builder who displays humility and fosters a culture of trust, communication, leadership, and effective decision making. To the challenges of a changing postsecondary landscape, you bring courage, integrity, focus, drive, and an interdisciplinary perspective. You are committed to the long-term success of the University. As UNBC evolves to meet the changing needs of students and society, you will lead integrated planning in supporting academic excellence. As Provost, you will be instrumental in developing sustainable strategic priorities that will continually enhance the University's capacity and reputation for relevant, high-quality teaching and research.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
