Pacific School of Religion (PSR) is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid to be part of a dynamic team committed to the expansion of the school’s recruitment in graduate level theological education and in new, innovative non-degree, leadership programs.
PSR is a member of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU), the largest and most diverse religious consortium of seminaries and institutes in the world. Recently, PSR has been designated as a Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U for being a leader in social innovation education and joins a dynamic global network of 40 colleges and universities from around the world, including Brown University, Duke University, Dublin City University and the University of Maryland. PSR views recruitment, admissions, and financial aid as central to the task of identifying and preparing the kind of leaders that can transform the world. The Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid serves as the primary operational support for the office and is responsible for the administration of student financial aid, including institutional scholarships, federal student loans and work study. S/he is the first point of contact for inquirers and prospective students and is instrumental in establishing a welcoming and helpful environment. As the primary financial aid officer, s/he interprets financial aid options and policies to prospective students and applicants and manages the financial aid application process and award packaging for new and returning students.
- At least two years of experience administering federal and institutional financial aid.
- At least three years of comprehensive administrative experience, preferably in a higher education admissions setting.
- Strong database management and personal computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and master other applications and systems such as federal software and third party servicer platforms. Flexibility in adapting to a changing technological landscape is essential.
- Commitment to the value of spiritually rooted leadership for social transformation in the service of faith communities and the broader society.
- Proven ability to work with diverse ethnic and multi-cultural student populations and students with diverse sexual orientations and gender-identities.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
