The Department of Integrative Biology at Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks a diverse pool of applicants for the position of Department Head. We seek a dynamic and visionary leader to help us enhance the excellence of our program and continue our current trajectory. The department has experienced significant growth in several areas over the past 10 years, including recruitment of several new tenure-track research/teaching faculty and teaching intensive non-tenure-track faculty, and increased undergraduate and graduate enrollment and philanthropy. Currently, the department is approaching 700 undergraduate students and has 70 graduate students, 6 staff, 22 tenure-track faculty, and 3 teaching faculty, with a strong history of democratic governance. The department is one of the strongest research departments in the College of Arts and Sciences and faculty have successfully acquired funding from numerous federal agencies and been recognized for their excellence in teaching. The new department head will embrace and foster the continued growth and development of the department. The start date will be on 1 July 2018 or as negotiated.

The ideal candidate will have the academic rank of Professor, a nationally recognized research program consistent with current research in the department, demonstrated success in obtaining extramural grant support, administrative and philanthropy experience, and a commitment to innovative teaching and curriculum that will produce students highly qualified for careers in research, teaching, and other professional positions.
