Overview:

The Director of the University Health Center is an MD, DO or APN who reports directly to the Dean of Students or other Executive Officer within the Division of Student Development and Campus Life.  The Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all areas of the University Health Center including clinical care, statutory compliance, administrative and fiscal activities; coordination and management of public health incidents; medical advisement to Montclair State University for emergency preparedness plans and incidents; oversight of special grants and initiatives; and the provision of clinical services to the MSU community.  The Director actively participates in the development of division and University wide policies in collaboration with other campus departments and participates at the managerial/administrative level in Divisional and University meetings and events.   The Director represents the interests of the University Health Center and medical needs of the University as a whole in creating policies and actions with other department directors that protect the health, safety and overall wellbeing of the MSU community.

Qualifications:

1.MD or DO: •Licensure as an MD or DO in New Jersey or eligible for licensure in New Jersey •Specialty practice in internal medicine or family practice medicine •Clinical experience in adolescent medicine preferred

2.APN: •Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner clinical concentration •Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in adult or family health from an approved national credentialing center. •Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in New Jersey with prescriptive authority. •Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred •Certification as a sexual assault nurse examiner preferred.

3.All Applicants: •Four years of significant professional experience in clinical and administrative areas for a college health service or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. •Proven ability to successfully manage a college health service and work collegially with students, staff, administrators and community agencies in a highly diverse environment. •Prior experience in the accreditation process of college health services preferred. •Prior experience working in or managing a HIPAA covered facility.
