The Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida is searching for a new senior colleague in Management with a focus on leadership at the strategic level of the firm.  For this position, we prefer to hire a nationally- or internationally-known thought leader who is currently a full professor, although highly qualified senior-level associate professors will be considered.  A Ph.D. in Management from an AACSB-accredited institution is required.  The position begins in August 2018.  A chaired professorship may be possible for a highly qualified candidate.

The mission of the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business is to develop global business leaders and innovators through a high-quality, integrated, experiential education that prepares them to add significant value to their organizations and communities.  Leadership pervades everything we do at Crummer.  For two years in a row, HR.com’s Leadership Excellence Awards named the Crummer Graduate School of Business the #1 Master’s program in the country for leadership and organizational development.  Faculty in all disciplines communicate the implications of their scholarship and teaching for executive-level leadership.

Crummer faculty embrace the points of intersection among our disciplines, just as executives do in their work.  We appreciate the crossover between teaching and research and are excited about both.  Crummer hires only experienced faculty with established teaching and research records and we especially value individuals who bring industry experience as part of their background. We do not have departments, but instead operate as a faculty of the whole. This model lends itself well to innovation and cross-functionality in both the classroom and in research collaborations.  Faculty members at Crummer appreciate the freedom to make things happen without the level of bureaucracy typically found at larger institutions.

Crummer has a dedicated, service-oriented support staff who assist and complement the faculty in delivering an outstanding educational experience.  Our passionate alumni are leaders in a wide variety of organizations and regularly serve as guest speakers and connect with our students outside the classroom.

Teaching:  Outstanding teaching is essential for all members of our faculty.  Crummer is a graduate-only business school with no undergraduate classes.  Preference will be given to candidates with a record of excellence in graduate-level teaching.  Faculty members teach in our three MBA programs: a full-time Early Advantage MBA with classes during the day, and two part-time programs – the Professional MBA, which meets in the evening, and our weekend Executive MBA program.  Some of our Early Advantage MBA students are from Rollins College’s 3-2 program, in which excellent undergraduate students from Rollins can begin work on their MBA during their senior year.

We also offer a high-quality, multi-disciplinary Executive Doctorate of Business Administration (EDBA) program.  EDBA students are top-level executives or seasoned entrepreneurs who hold a Master’s degree.  They take a variety of seminars in residence and complete a dissertation and other requirements during their three-year program.  The EDBA prepares students to conduct applied research on executive-level business problems.  The opportunity to work with these seasoned executives is one that our new colleague will appreciate.

Crummer has an innovative curriculum comprised of 2-credit classes offered in 8-week terms throughout the calendar year.  Experiential/applied learning is a hallmark of Crummer.  Crummer faculty members take pride in the fact that we are ranked #1 in Florida by Forbes.  We offer a premier graduate degree and attract excellent graduate students who are eager to learn.  The prestige factor of holding a Crummer MBA is very high, especially in Florida.

Research: The Crummer faculty recognizes that a broad range of research contributes to management practice. Cross-functional collaboration is common within our own faculty and also with colleagues outside the Crummer School.  Managerial relevance combined with rigor is highly valued.  Our location offers excellent opportunities for field research.  Orlando is home to leading corporations and non-profit organizations and is ranked #1 in the country for job growth.

Service: You will find collegiality is one of the best parts of being a faculty member at the Crummer School. We genuinely like working together and when service needs come up, it’s not a burden, but rather part of our culture of self-governance.  Externally, involvement in ways such as scholarly societies, editorial boards, and local community service is well-respected.

Rollins College: The Crummer Graduate School of Business is part of a top-tier private liberal arts institution. Founded in 1885, Rollins was the first recognized college in Florida and is a significant force in the Central Florida community.  Rollins has been recognized for six consecutive years in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s list of “Great Colleges to Work For” and was named the #1 “Most Beautiful Campus” in the nation by Princeton Review in 2016.  Rollins is fully accredited by SACS and the Crummer School is fully accredited by AACSB.

Life in Central Florida:  Winter Park is a beautiful college and tourist town on the edge of Orlando.  It is an easy drive to world-class beaches, lakes, cultural attractions, and theme parks.
