Director, Payroll (#20379) SO
Position Summary
Holds direct management authority and accountability to execute
policies and operational initiatives for the LSC Payroll
department. This position is responsible for directing, enhancing
and maintaining accuracy and efficiency of Payroll
programs/practices/systems for Lone Star College, ensuring
strategic goals are met. Ensures that Lone Star College’s Payroll
systems are accurately administered, updated and maintained;
ensures projects are carried out and completed on time. Position
manages the Payroll team.
Job Functions
1.Provides leadership and strategic direction for system-wide
Payroll programs and practices.
2.Oversees and reviews College-wide Payroll operations; mitigates
and effectively resolves escalated issues/concerns, approves
exceptions to standard practices, and process changes.
3.Hires, trains, manages, motivates and evaluates managers as well
as other professional and support staff; coaches, mentors and helps
team to maximize performance and potential.
4.Ensures LSC is in compliance with state and federal Payroll
related laws and regulations.
5.Serves as Project Director for related projects and initiatives
to ensure goals are carried out and completed accurately and on
time and according to specifications.
6.Evaluates and provides recommendations for changes to existing
Payroll programs, practices and policies.
7.Identifies and implements process changes and improvements within
functional areas; ensures business process documentation is created
and training is provided to appropriate teams/employees.
8.Gathers statistics and information regarding relevant
business-impacting metrics for senior Accounting
administration.
9.Reviews and approves reports and maintains high level of
accountability for operations within functional area.
10.Responsible for other reasonable related duties as
assigned.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of related work experience; at least 3 years in a management or director-level position.

Salary
Hiring Salary is $67,592
