Associate Vice President Outreach and Economic and Community Development

Utah Valley University (UVU), located in Orem, Utah, is the fastest growing and a largest public, comprehensive university in the state. UVU is seeking an experienced and innovative leader to serve as the Associate Vice President responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of a department(s) or division with university-wide impact. Responsible for supporting the mission and vision of a division and/or the University. Provides direct assistance in the formulation, development, and implementation, and assessment of strategic goals and objectives and University policies and procedures. Represents the University on administrative matters for the division to include external entities, both public and private.

This position also coordinates civic and corporate outreach of all university divisions; establishes and oversees outreach relationships for economic and community development; provides administrative direction for The Center for Professional and Continuing Education, Turning Point, Concurrent Enrollment, Office of Career and Technical Education, satellite campuses and instructional extension sites, Business Resource Center (BRC); coordinates the gathering of information about regional educational needs (credit and non-credit, certificates through master programs); leads university-wide efforts to proactively address those needs and accelerate regional business and community development; and oversees business incubation and acceleration and commercialization of intellectual property and technology; and sustains fulfillment of UVU’s dual community college and university mission.

Minimum qualifications:

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctoral degree and a minimum of five years of recent experience in a related field within higher education in a strategic leadership role, including management of departments and programs OR a master’s degree in a related field and seven years of related experience within higher education in a strategic leadership role, including management of departments and programs, or an equivalent.
