The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Twentieth-Century American Literature. Applicants for the position should have a Ph.D in this field. The successful candidate for this position should have a promising publishing agenda, proven excellence in the classroom, and a Ph.D in hand by August 2017.

The English Department offers undergraduate tracks in both CT and Literature, as well as a Master’s program in Texts, Technologies and Literature. The teaching load is 3/3, and candidates must be prepared to teach lower and upper level undergraduate courses for majors and non-majors as well as graduate level courses. We are especially interested in candidates whose research and teaching expertise can contribute to the department’s commitment to engaging with issues of diversity in our curriculum.
