The Department of English at Missouri State University seeks qualified candidates in TESOL for a non-tenure-track position at the instructor or assistant professor level.

The department offers degrees in English at the BA and MA levels with tracks/minors in linguistics, TELL, and TESOL. Additional Qualifications for the Visiting Instructor in TESOL:

  • MA in TESOL or closely related field from an accredited university, degree completed by August 2017;
  • evidence of successful teaching;
  • proficiency in a foreign language;
  • ESOL/ELL certified teaching experience in K-12 schools;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • skills and interest in online teaching.

  • PhD/EdD in TESL or closely related field, degree completed by August 2017;

  • skills and interest in online teaching.

Although Visiting Assistant Professor in TESOL and Visiting Instructor in TESOL positions are being posted, the department will only be filling one of these positions based on the qualifications of the selected applicant.
