Managing Editor, Alumni Magazine and Campus Communications

Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker school with campuses in Bethesda, Maryland, and Washington, DC, seeks a managing editor for its Department of Communications. The managing editor is responsible for the writing, editing, and production of the Alumni Magazine, as well as the School’s other print and digital publications, including the website and social media channels.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required (master’s preferred) with 5–7 years of senior-level experience in writing, editing, and production for print and digital publications. Basic photography skills and knowledge of design and layout principles are also necessary, as are a sense of humor, a commitment to excellence, the ability to meet deadlines, and an appreciation for the Quaker values underlying the School. This 12-month, full-time position begins July 1. Interested applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, at least two writing samples, and contact information for three references via our online application at www.sidwell.edu/employment
