The Yale School of Management seeks applications for a full-time lecturer position. The position is an annual (12-month), non-tenure track, academic appointment renewable for up to three years. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

DUTIES:

Design and coordinate Executive Education programs and teach Executive Education courses in the areas of leadership and organizational behavior; teach one course, each year, in a Yale SOM master's program.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Design programs that emphasize experiential and outcomes-driven learning that will have a positive impact on organizations and executives. Leverage a world-class faculty and adjunct instructors, including industry leaders.
  • Keep up-to-date with latest knowledge and research in executive education trends and pedagogy.
  • Use state-of-the-art learning methodologies, with an emphasis on experiential learning.
  • Ensure program quality while managing within a program budget.
  • Conduct client needs assessments and translate into effective program curricula.
  • Collaborate with faculty and manage faculty relationships; identify and cultivate outside content experts.
  • Partner with the business development team to create innovative program proposals that take into account clients’ desired business outcomes. Participate in sales meetings and deliver presentations as needed. Develop and maintain relationships with clients.

ANTICIPATED TIME ALLOCATION:

80% Executive Education

  • 60% Teaching and session development in such topics as leading self, team, and organization; organizational culture; change management; cross-cultural leadership; group dynamics; negotiations; and other topics typically classified as micro OB.
  • 30% Program design and coordination
  • 5% Business development
  • 5% Executive coaching

20% Master's Program Teaching

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ph.D. (preferred), MBA, or equivalent advanced degree in organizational behavior or a related field.
  • Teaching and curriculum design experience, preferably 7+ years, in university-based executive education or corporate education.
  • Strong client management and project management skills, all with a customer service-oriented focus.
  • Ability to work effectively with different constituencies, including senior executives in the business community, internal / external faculty members, and Executive Education staff and colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a consultative style in conversation and formal presentations.
  • Demonstrated client-engagement skills.
  • An understanding of different industries and competitive environments.
  • Experience using learning technologies.
  • Results-driven, with a passion for learning and ability to achieve results, overcoming barriers when met.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in other languages will be regarded as an advantage but is not essential.

This position will be located in New Haven, Connecticut, but will require domestic and international travel for program delivery and client meetings.
