Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is posting a call for applicants for THREE assistant/associate professor positions in the Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health.  TTUHSC is a public institution of higher learning with multiple campuses serving hundreds of miles of West Texas.  Located in Lubbock, Texas, the university enjoys moderate weather, low cost of living, and a variety of cultural and civic activities.

 

POSITIONS: THREE Assistant/Associate Professor positions are available in the Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health, one in each of the three programs: Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling; Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling; and Master of Science in Addiction Counseling.  These appointments are tenure/non-tenure track, twelve month, renewable, full time positions.

            Position 1:                                          Requisition #:  10424BR

PROGRAM: The Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is a 60-credit, completely online, master’s level program, accredited by CORE (CACREP as of July 1, 2017). 

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education or closely related field is desired. Candidates must either be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or be eligible for CRC certification within one year of hire.  A record of professional or scholarly productivity is desirable. Candidates who are A.B.D. will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Program is especially interested in candidates who have experience and/or a research and practice interest in psychosocial/psychiatric rehabilitation, adaptation to disability, or experience working in rural and underserved settings.

DUTIES:  Primary duty will be to teach graduate level courses and providing clinical supervision in an online setting for programs within the Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health.  Other duties will include advising students, curriculum development, and engaging in scholarly development.  Specific teaching assignments are dependent on department needs and individual expertise.

Position 2:                                          Requisition #:  10422BR

PROGRAM: The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will seek accreditation from CACREP as a completely online master level program.  Placing an increased emphasis on training to serve underserved and remote populations, faculty and students will be expected to achieve Telemedicine certification.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. in Counselor Education, Counseling, or closely related field is desired.  Candidates must either be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas or seek licensure within one year.  A record of professional or scholarly productivity is desirable.

DUTIES:  Primary duty will be to teach graduate level courses and providing clinical supervision in an online setting for programs within the Department of Clinical Counseling and Mental Health.  Other duties will include advising students, curriculum development, and engaging in scholarly development.  Specific teaching assignments are dependent on department needs and individual expertise.

Position 3:                                          Requisition #:  10423BR

PROGRAM: The Master of Science in Addiction Counseling Program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is a completely online, master level program. The Addiction Counseling Program is actively recruiting students from diverse populations and backgrounds and set for matriculation to begin in Fall of 2017. The TTUHSC Addiction Counseling program is one of the first counselor education programs in the United States to train practitioners simultaneously in clinical counseling skills and distance service provision techniques. The program will seek CACREP-accreditation. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. in Counselor Education, Addiction Counseling, or a closely related field.  A record of professional or scholarly productivity and licensure eligibility is desirable. Excellent ABD candidates with a firm date of completion will be considered.

DUTIES:  Primary duty will be to teach graduate level courses and providing clinical supervision in an online setting for the Master of Science in Addiction Counseling Program.  Other duties will include advising students, curriculum development, and engaging in scholarly/clinical activities.  Specific teaching assignments are dependent on department needs and individual expertise.

 

SALARY:  Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualification, as is rank and tenure.
