Instructional Responsibilities:
•    Teaching scene design
•    Teaching properties design
•    Teaching scene painting
•    Teaching theatrical rendering
•    Teaching computer aided design
•    Leading the department in best practices for industry safety standards

Non-Instructional Responsibilities:
•    Scene design

•    Properties design
•    Coordinating with Technical Director
•    Mentoring student designers for departmental production season
•    Participation in the execution of design elements of the production season, as needed
•    Supervise and Manage Prop Shop and Paint Shop. Includes supervision of student workers and maintaining both work and storage spaces
•    Academic advising

•    Student recruitment

•    Scholarly/creative activity and service in the Department and University

 

Required Qualifications

•    MFA in scenic design and/or technology or related terminal degree at time of application

•    University or Professional experience in scene and properties design
•    Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
•    Applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to best practices regarding health and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications
•    Previous university teaching experience

•    Experience with projection design and execution, or willingness to acquire expertise in this area
•    Experience working with, teaching or mentoring diverse groups or diverse students
