The Senior Assistant Dean is the chief administrative officer for the School of Engineering and a member of the Dean’s senior leadership team. The position has primary responsibility for all interrelated activities regarding finance, human resources, facilities and events within the School of Engineering and ensures that the School’s operations are in compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as applicable Local, State, and Federal laws. The position also serves as a chief liaison to external constituencies (non-Engineering SCU and outside entities) for all finance, human resources, facilities, and events matters. The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Engineering.

The position serves as the direct supervisor of the Engineering Computing Center (ECC) Manager and works with the faculty management team of the ECC to ensure the ECC provides the services, software, hardware, and facilities necessary for the School’s teaching and research needs.

The position serves as the direct supervisor of the Events Manager in the School of Engineering. The Senior Assistant Dean is responsible for ensuring all specified events are planned, communicated, managed, implemented, and reviewed/revised to assure goals and objectives are met.

The position serves as a secondary supervisor (i.e. dotted-line reporting relationship) of the Administrative Assistant for the Dean’s Office, who serves as the front-office contact for all visitors to the School of Engineering. The primary responsibility of facilities management, specifically access and administrative assistance with renovation projects, is the main focus of the dotted-line reporting relationship.
