Lecturer in the Social Sciences Core

The College at the University of Chicago invites applications for two full-time Lectureships in the Social Sciences Collegiate Division’s undergraduate Core. We are hiring for two Social Sciences Cores – the “Classics of Social and Political Thought” and “Self, Culture, and Society.” Each Lecturer will teach six class sections over the course of the academic year. Additional responsibilities include attending staff meetings, holding office hours, and mentoring graduate student teaching interns. Each position is a one-year, renewable appointment to begin on September 1, 2017. The salary is $48,000 with full benefits.  

Both positions require a PhD in a relevant discipline and evidence of teaching at the college level. Experience teaching in “Self, Culture, and Society” or “Classics of Social and Political Thought” is highly desirable.
