The Department of Computer Science at IPFW invites applications for a visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall semester 2017. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates having expertise in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Informatics, and Data Science. Duties include teaching 12 credit hours or the equivalent per semester of CS courses and a pursuit of scholarly endeavors.

IPFW is the largest university in northeast Indiana. The Computer Science department has 11 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 2 continuing lecturers, and over 360 students in four different undergraduate and graduate programs. The department is ABET accredited in Computer Science.

Requirements for the position are: hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field by the beginning of the 2017 fall semester; a strong record of research that supports the teaching and research missions of the Department; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and an interest in working with students and collaborating with the business community.

Review of applications will begin April 7, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. A complete application should include a cover letter, CV, copies of official transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. For teaching, we require evidence of teaching experience or effectiveness and a 1-2 page teaching philosophy. All materials must be submitted electronically to the Chair of the Search Committee at  Candidates who are invited to interview on campus will be required to prepare a 45 to 60 minute instructional student-based presentation.
