The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for appointment to a 9-month tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with specific specialization in PK12 educational administration (campus principal level or higher) beginning September 1, 2017. Successful candidates will 1) maintain a successful program of research and publication, 2) teach graduate-level courses in both traditional and online formats, and 3) actively seek extramural funding opportunities. Required qualifications for this position include an earned doctorate in educational administration/leadership by August 2017, a defined research agenda, evidence of strong teaching at the higher education level, a minimum of five years of PK-12 school administration experience, and an ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty, students, and school personnel. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience related to PK-12 principalship or superintendency. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.

 

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies offers four graduate programs: the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with emphasis options in principal certification, higher education administration, and dual-language principal certification; the principal certificate; the superintendent certificate; and the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. It also offers one undergraduate program, the Leadership Minor/Leadership Certificate, in partnership with the UTA Leadership Center and the Division of Student Affairs.

 

Home to 2,400 students, 40 faculty members, and 25 staff members, the College of Education not only prepares education professionals to lead North Texas in a dynamic and changing environment, but also contributes to the national dialogue surrounding education in the 21st Century.
