The Department of Biology at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in the areas including, but not limited to, Immunology with potential to integrate basic and translational research to solve problems in infectious disease, clinical medicine, or biotechnology. The successful candidate will join a collegial, research-oriented, Department of Biology that offers undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) programs, and will have a joint appointment with the Institute for Human Ecology. The new faculty member is expected to pursue an extramurally-funded research program and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The candidate must also contribute to our newly established Institute for Human Ecology which promotes an integrated understanding of human beings in their relationships with one another, with society, and with the natural world in the light of both reason and faith. The Institute is dedicated to rigorous multi-disciplinary academic research and public outreach at the intersection of Catholic social teaching, environmental stewardship, and economic development.
