Eastern Washington University seeks an experienced and dynamic leader who has a comprehensive understanding and vision of a university education for the 21st century. The Associate Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness fulfills a critical role in supporting the university’s mission and its commitment to students. The AVP is responsible for leading and directing efforts in strategic planning and decision-making, assessment, analysis, accreditation, and environmental scanning to provide the basis for determining and/or recommending university directions and/or initiatives to help us accomplish our mission and meet our commitments. This is an administrative position reporting to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Major units reporting to the AVP include Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation, and Strategic University Planning.

Eastern seeks an experienced academic leader and a strategic thinker. Qualifications include an earned doctorate from an accredited institution; six or more years of higher education experience with responsibilities in areas relevant to this position; experience in an academic leadership role and supervising managers and/or staff. The AVP for Institutional Effectiveness must possess a demonstrated ability to interpret and disseminate institutional data and use of results. The selected candidate must have proven experience in the design, organization and managements of complex projects. Experience with institutional and/or program accreditation and/or assessment is highly desired.
