The Mechanical Engineering Department within the College of
Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA invites applications
for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty appointment in
the general area of thermal-fluids sciences, with specific interest
in nuclear and renewable energy at a rank and salary commensurate
with the applicant's background and experience. The projected start
date is September 2017. Candidates with industry experience are

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (a) teaching a wide variety of undergraduate classes and laboratories, and distance education modes, in thermal-fluids sciences in general, and nuclear and renewable energy in particular, as well as graduate courses in the area of specialization; (b) supervising undergraduate and graduate-level research; (c) developing and maintaining externally-funded research programs; (d) engaging in activities related to service at all levels of the University. Outcomes assessment and Learn by Doing are important components of the University curriculum. Specific assignments will depend on department and program needs.
