Tenure Track Position: Bioarchaeologist
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Missouri State University (in Springfield, Missouri) invites applications for a tenure-track position in bioarchaeology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2017. Duties will include teaching courses at the introductory, advanced, and graduate levels in biological anthropology and archaeology; advising students and mentoring graduate research; and otherwise contributing to a four-field undergraduate anthropology program and a master’s program in applied anthropology. Ph.D. in Anthropology by time of appointment, significant experience in the field, demonstrated success in teaching anthropology, a record of excellence in research required; experience in applied / engaged anthropology sought. Expertise in areas that complement and build on the department’s current strengths, including a masters program in applied anthropology is sought. A willingness and ability to offer opportunities for students to engage in applied anthropology research projects, fieldwork and / or study abroad experiences is sought.
