The Department of Music at Midwestern State University, a NASM accredited institution, invites applications for a tenure-track position in low brass at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2017.
Minimum Qualifications: Appointment requires a doctorate in music. Successful music teaching experience at the secondary or college level is preferred.
Duties: The successful candidate will be a low-brass specialist with ability to teach applied lessons for trombone, euphonium, and tuba; adapt instruction for each student in private lessons; and teach music classes commensurate with experience and education. The successful candidate will maintain a record of professional performances, presentations and/or publication; perform regularly on major instrument; successfully collaborate with music faculty and ensemble directors; actively recruit; engage in departmental, university and community service; develop relationships with area schools and directors; and be a positive representative of the university both on and off campus.
