Job Description:
The Department of Human behavior is looking for an archaeologically oriented anthropologist capable of fulfilling the following departmental needs:

Teach introductory level Anthropology and Archaeology courses and develop syllabi and course materials in several anthropological subfields; evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes and program assessment program; Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development; Participate in program/division meetings and activities and serve on department and college-wide committees; Work with existing faculty to facilitate the growth of CRM certificate program; Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of early morning, day, evening and/or weekend classes.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related fields from a regionally accredited college or university
• Minimum of 2 years of higher education teaching experience within the last 4 years during which the candidate must have taught higher education anthropology and/or archaeology courses.
• Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses; or documented training in online teaching methods; or use of a learning management system (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
• Evidence of current activity within the profession

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related fields
• Area of specialty preferred is the archaeology of the Great Basin, Mojave Desert, American Southwest, or the Intermontane West.
• Community college teaching experience within the last 4 years
• Five or more years of higher education teaching experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop and teach web-enhanced, blended/hybrid, and on-line classes
• College service evidenced by committee work, program discipline coordination, student advisement, research studies/publications, and collaborative projects with colleagues within the past four years
• Demonstrated ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards as outlined in 36CFR Part 61
• Experience using GIS systems
• Experience in grant writing

Salary:
• Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent college teaching experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement.
