Binghamton University, State University of New York (SUNY), Anthropology Department seeks an archaeologist specializing in Andean prehistory for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2017. Applicants must have completed a PhD by the time of appointment and have a demonstrated record of teaching, an active research program, potential for grant-funding, and publications. Candidates should complement and contribute to departmental strengths and interests. Qualifications include proficiency in Andean archaeology, a strong theoretical foundation, and expertise in analytic techniques for the study of the archaeological record –  for example, artifact analyses, such as ceramics,  lithics, textiles, or metallurgy; quantitative methods; GIS; archaeometry; zooarchaeology; paleoenviromental reconstruction;  bioarchaeology; etc.  The candidate is expected to develop an active research program with field-based and/or laboratory-based research, and with plans to incorporate students in her/his research.  Applicants should review the graduate and undergraduate programs and other faculty interests at  Formal review of applications will begin October 10, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled.
