The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Illinois State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in anthropology beginning August 16, 2017. We seek a non-New World archaeologist with research expertise in zooarchaeology and the ability to teach courses in human osteology and introductory biological anthropology and archaeology, in addition to courses in her/his area of specialty. Ph.D. in anthropology required. The successful candidate will have an established record of research and teaching and the potential to offer an archaeological field school.
1. A Ph.D. in anthropology prior to the start date.
2. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
